Rerun: Attaching the return lineUpdated 2 years ago
Before releasing the return line, turn the upper spool several times in the feed-out direction, until the counterweight has been lifted and suspended an inch or two off the ground. At this point you may remove the tape holding the return line in place, thread it through the guide and attach it to your zip line trolley. (It may be helpful to insert a pencil or other object into the spokes of the upper spool to prevent it from spinning backwards during this operation.)
The return line should be attached so that it runs as parallel as possible to the cable. A built-in handlebar, or a carabiner attached directly to the trolley are both acceptable attachment points. The return line should make no contact with the cable, or impede a rider’s ability to operate the trolley.
